My name is Jubilee!
I have loved writing ever since I learned how. My first story was a continuation of the children’s book Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes. I have certainly grown a lot since my first story!
From my home deep in the heart of Texas with my 5 siblings and 14 chickens, I now write medieval fantasy novellas and am currently working on several short stories. I’ve been writing seriously for about a year now, and I decided it’s finally time to start a blog. But first, I’ll share a little about writing journey over the past few years.
You see, I wasn’t always a serious writer. I had worked on and off on writing projects before, but I had never really considered writing as a career. And I thought I was too young. If you can’t drive, if you aren’t a legal adult, if you aren’t 21, (I thought) you didn’t have any recourses with which to choose a career. According to my belief, it would be years until I was old enough to do anything significant with my life!
But then I read a book called Do Hard Things by Brett and Alex Harris.
These twin brothers began this revolution while they were still teenagers. In fact, they began a rebelution; A teenage rebellion against low expectations. I was very inspired by this book, and have thence started my journey as a serious writer, even though I’m still young.
Well, what can you expect from this blog? There are two sections to my blog: interviews and short stories. Are you interested in reading a piece of my writing? The second Monday of each month I will post a short story for the readers. Are you a writer looking to gain experience from fellow writers out there? The fourth Monday of each month I will post an interview I do with another writer that you can read and listen to.
I am so excited to share my blog with you guys, and I have a question for you, too. If you had to work on something for the rest of your life, what would it be? I’d love to hear your response below!
